the speaker

Lori Akiyama is Program Coordinator, NSERC CREATE SE4AI at Concordia University, a program training graduate students in the technical, social and ethical aspects of AI-based software systems. She also co-founded the Gender Equity Mentoring in AI (GEMinAI) Program which supports women and gender-diverse individuals on their journey from academia to professional career. Lori has a degree in Communications Studies from University of Calgary and has supported hundreds of internationally trained professionals transition to successful careers in Canada.
