About Balkissa

I am a bilingual systems engineer (French/English) who thrives on balancing multiple roles with passion and purpose. I’ve successfully managed a full-time job, pursued a master’s degree, conducted AI research, and launched my own startup—all at the same time. My work in AI focuses on ethics, equity, and inclusion, with a deep interest in addressing gender and racial biases in technology. Through my research, I explore how AI systems can unintentionally reinforce societal inequalities and how we can implement fairer, more responsible solutions. What sets me apart is my ability to navigate these challenges with an interdisciplinary approach, blending technology, psychology, and social impact. I believe that multitasking, when done right, can be a powerful tool for both personal and professional growth. My experience has taught me how to prioritize, stay organized, and overcome challenges like self-doubt and impostor syndrome. I am excited to share my insights and strategies to help others embrace their ambitions without feeling overwhelmed. Outside of work, I enjoy dancing, Pilates, and reflecting on the beauty of human connections. My favorite word? Sonder—a reminder that everyone has a unique story worth exploring.
