About Anita

As a Lead Senior UX Designer at Unity Technologies, I’ve spent the past 4 years designing complex tools for game developers, tackling the challenge of balancing usability with power. This experience has given me deep insight into the challenges and opportunities that UX presents in creative tools.

Having benefited from mentorship and support programs, I’m passionate about helping underrepresented creators thrive in the tech and gaming industries. By rethinking UX in creative tools, we can build more inclusive environments where everyone has the opportunity to participate, experiment, and innovate - “redefining what’s possible” and making the impossible accessible and achievable.

Designing for Creators: UX Strategies for Complex Softwares

Creative tools—like game engines and professional software—are often designed for power users who need flexibility and control. Too frequently, these tools assume that complexity must mean difficulty, with UX as an afterthought. This results in steep learning curves, overwhelming interfaces, and inefficient workflows.

In this talk, I will explore how UX strategies can redefine what’s possible in creative software by making complexity feel intuitive without sacrificing depth. We’ll cover key concepts like defining user profiles, prioritizing workflows, and introducing complexity only when necessary, enabling diverse creators of all technical skill levels to participate, experiment, and innovate.
